ISLAMABAD: My father has changed with time and it continues to surprise many, said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
There has been a visible change in how my father deals with his political rivals as opposed to before, she remarked.
“He has changed, which has come as a surprise to many. Over the past 17 years, he has become calmer and tries to listen to his detractors instead of lashing out at them,” she said while speaking to Newsweek.
She added that his nature has changed as he does not become angry soon and even encourages other party leaders to solve a situation reasonably.
“When party workers complain to him about the rude attitudes of rival politicians, he just smiles and tells them to let them be: ‘They [opposition politicians] have to feel like they’re accomplishing something. Even if it is just criticism of our policies,’” she added.
My father knows that is main job is to ensure prosperity of the people in Pakistan. “He is willing to work with anyone who can help him in this goal—even Imran Khan. If he has concrete policies, my father would be eager to listen to them and bring them before Parliament,” she added.
The Sharif family has been in news for the Panama case controversy. The verdict on the case has been reserved by the judiciary.
