Gladiators have named five foreign players who will be part of the squad for the final in Lahore

LAHORE: With his side set to face Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League final on Sunday, Gladiators skipper Sarfraz Ahmed says this time they would definitely win the game to lift the PSL trophy.

A wave of enthusiasm and excitement seems to have taken over people from across Pakistan and abroad for the highly anticipated Pakistan Superior League final match, to be held between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators in Lahore on March 5.

Meanwhile, Gladiators skipper Sarfraz Ahmed says that although his side lost last year, but this time they would definitely win the final against Peshawar Zalmi.

Asked about the vacuum created with the exclusion of foreign players, he says, "The absence of foreign players will make some difference, but the team will be seen fighting in the PSL final," he said.

Gladiators name foreign players for PSL final

Quetta Gladiators have picked five foreign players for the Pakistan Super League final in Lahore on Sunday.

These foreign players will be part of the Gladiators squad which will face Peshawar Zalmi in the final at Gaddafi Stadium.

Anamul Haque – Bangladesh

Sean Ervine – Zimbabwe

Morne Van Wyk – South Africa

Elton Chigumbura – Zimbabwe

Rayad Emrit – West Indies

Besides these overseas players, Pakistan’s Aizaz Cheema will also be part of the Gladiators squad, replacing injured Umar Gul.

Gladiators players Kevin Pietersen, Luke Wright, Tymal Mills and Rilee Rossouw opted out of the PSL final in Lahore following Quetta’s one-run win against Zalmi in the first playoff.

The security around Gaddafi Stadium has been beefed up with thousands of security personnel being deployed to stand guard as cricket returns to the heart of Pakistan.

The stadium with a capacity of 27,000 spectators is going to be brimming with fans. To maintain foolproof security containers and check posts have been set up around the venue while a 25-bed hospital has been established at the stadium and another 7-bed set up at a local hotel in the vicinity.
