The successful hosting of the Pakistan Super League final in Lahore on Sunday has been applauded by international media all around.

More than just the final contest itself, the world media, including Indian media, hailed the return of cricket to Pakistan – which had long been starved of international cricket until last night, when the nation rejoiced in finally getting its most popular sport back home.

Leading Indian publication The Indian Express reported the historic night with the headline ‘PSL 2017 Final: Pakistan breaking barriers, winning hearts’.

Zee News led the coverage with ‘Pakistan wins today as final between Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators passes off peacefully’.

India Today went with: ‘Peshawar Zalmi win Pakistan Super League title in trouble-free final in Lahore’.

‘Great day for Pak cricket as Peshawar win PSL title’, wrote Gulf Today. Voice of America termed the occasion 'historic'.

BBC News reported: ‘Pakistan hosts biggest cricket game in years amid tight security’.

Peshawar Zalmi beat Quetta Gladiators by 58 runs to win the PSL 2017 trophy, in front of a packed house of 30,000 spectators at the historic Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.
