Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu who has always been known for her acclaimed modeling career sparked controversy during her recent visit to London.
On March 4, Bipasha Basu and husband Karan Singh Grover arrived in London for the India-Pakistan London Fashion Show where London-based designers Lubna and Uzma Rafiq roped in the actress as the showstopper for the grand finale at Gibson Hall. The show featured three cultures - British, Indian and Pakistani.
Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh was also set to walk the ramp. Javed Sheikh and Bipasha were supposed to interact with the media together after the curtains came down.
Just a few hours before the show kickstarted at 6PM, Bipasha refused to come out of her hotel room or speak to anybody.
According to Indian media reports, when her manager, Sana Kapoor tried to convince her to come out, Bips abused her and threw her out of the room. It is also heard that she insulted Gurbani Kaur who was the founder and organiser of the show by slamming the door in her face.
Because of Bipasha not showing up, the organisers of India-Pakistan London Fashion Show suffered losses of a whopping 7,800 pounds.
The organisers, extremely upset with the loss, are now trying to get her banned from the UK.
Bipasha Basu responded to the allegations by posting on her Twitter account and calling the organiser a ‘con woman’.
Hearing about a con woman talking utter rubbish about my work ethics and some section of the media giving them space too.
