LAHORE: Cricketer Shahzaib Hasan is expected to be suspended in the ongoing investigation into the Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot-fixing scandal, sources revealed to Geo News on Wednesday.
Shahzaib, who was also questioned during the second edition of PSL last month, appeared before the PCB's Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) and recorded his statement.
Sources added that batsman Nasir Jamshed has also been contacted by the PCB’s ACU and will be interrogated.
On Tuesday, fast bowler Mohammad Irfan was formally charged and provisionally suspended by the PCB for violating its anti-corruption code.
Two other cricketers, Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif, were formally charged by the PCB last month. They were suspended by the PCB after an initial inquiry into an alleged attempt by an international syndicate to corrupt the PSL.
Both men have denied all charges framed against them by the PCB except one allegation. In response to the charge sheet, the two cricketers only admitted to a disciplinary violation and not spot-fixing.
PCB chairman Shahryar Khan stated earlier that both cricketers had admitted to having met a bookie in their official statement.
