RAWALPINDI: Two officials of the Frontier Constabulary were martyred in an attempted terrorist attack on an FC checkpost in Khyber Agency early Friday morning, Geo News reported.

Pakistan Army effectively responded to the aggression and killed six terrorists in retaliatory fire, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Two FC personnel embraced martyrdom in the attack which was carried out from across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, the ISPR stated.

Pakistan sealed the Torkham and Chaman crossings last month, after a blitz of bombings in the country which killed over a 100 people in 10 days.

Pakistan has repeatedly protested that terrorists are taking advantage of the turmoil in Afghanistan and using Afghan soil to orchestrate terrorist attacks in Pakistan. The Pakistan Army last month also launched multiple strikes across the border targetting terrorist hideouts in retaliation to the aggression.
