PESHAWAR: Frontier Constabulary soldiers foiled a terrorist attack at an FC training centre in Charsadda early Friday morning.
One FC soldier embraced martyrdom while another soldier was injured when suicide bombers stormed an FC training centre located in Shabqadar in Charsadda at around 6 am, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
FC soldiers, in retaliatory fire, killed two suicide bombers, foiling the suicide bombing bid, ISPR statement added.
The injured FC soldier was taken to THQ Hospital Shabqadar.
Speaking to the media, Commandant FC Liaquat Ali said the terrorists attacked early in the morning. “Within no time the Army and Frontier Corp arrived to help. Everyone is united in this war and helping each other out."
Liaquat Ali added that with this attack terrorists were aiming to demoralise security forces but with recent attacks being foiled, the morale is high.
Meanwhile, funeral prayers of the martyred soldier, identified as Lance naik Naeemullah, were offered at FC Headquarters in Peshawar.
Following the attack, security forces started conducting a search operation in the area.
Earlier today, two FC officials were martyred in a foiled terrorist attack on a check post in Khyber Agency, which was carried out from across the Pak-Afghan border, ISPR said in a statement. Pakistan Army effectively responded to the aggression and killed six terrorists in retaliatory fire.
