LAHORE: In a major revelation in the mysterious killing of the newlywed bride, Hira, the groom confessed to killing her in Lahore’s Samanabad area, police informed on Friday.
According to police, Tanveer killed Hira in her sleep at 2 AM, by suffocating her with a pillow.
The groom confessed that he put the pillow on her Hira’s face for 20 minutes.
Police further said that Tanveer didn’t want to marry her paternal cousin and wasn’t willing for the wedding till the end.
Tanveer married Hira due to family pressure, police said, adding that the suspect used to like another girl in Dubai.
Police said that further investigation is underway in the case.
Police had arrested Tanveer after Hira was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in her room, three days after her wedding.
The groom initially denied killing her. “Hira used to wear dupatta while sleeping, she might have been strangled by it during night,” he had said.
The bride’s father had filed an FIR under the murder charge.
