Son of slain security guard blames faulty gun for father’s demise

FAISALABAD: The son of a security guard who died while trying to stop a robbery at a medical store has alleged that his father’s gun was faulty.

Naazir Hussain was a resident of Dhadi Wala and worked as a security guard at a pharmacy store at Jaranwala road. He was shot at by robbers on Wednesday night during an attempted robbery at the store.

The CCTV footage shows three robbers entering the shop and trying to snatch Hussain’s gun. Using his gun to beat the robbers, he was successfully able to drive them out of the shop. However, bullets fired by the fleeing robbers proved to be fatal and took the brave guard’s life.

Hussain’s son alleged that the gun provided by the security company who employed Hussain was faulty and did not have bullets. Hussain’s life could have been saved had the gun been functional and had bullets, said his son.

Moreover, contrary to the security company’s claims to provide a compensation of Rs50,000, his family was given only Rs10,000 on Friday.

Meanwhile, police have failed to apprehend the perpetrators. Police authorities said a team comprising ASP Madina Town, ASP People’s Colony and DSP Central Intelligence Agency is trying to track down the suspects, adding that they will be arrested soon.
