ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Abdul Rehman Malik on Friday directed the Islamabad Police to take further security measures in the Federal Capital with the special regard to the High Security Zone.

Chairing a meeting at the Interior Ministry, Rehman Malik said that the security of important infrastructure be furthered to avoid any untoward happening.

“We need to have more vigilant security,” he said. “No one should be allowed access to the Federal Capital without possession of valid Computerized National Identity Card,” he said.

He further directed that as far as the High Security Zone is concerned only Journalists and Parliamentarians be allowed to enter in the zone.

The meeting, attended by IG Islamabad and other senior officials of the Capital Police, briefed the Minister about the arrest of two alleged terrorists from Islamabad on Friday.
