ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani on Tuesday said that US citizens were allowed to enter Pakistan without a visa from Islamabad airport in former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s tenure.

The Chairman Senate was addressing a session of the upper house of parliament, where he said that the former military ruler had formed a ‘spider’ group.

He said that American officials would visit Pakistan freely, adding that they would not take clearance from immigration and customs officials.

“It should be inquired if those officials were involved in spying for Abbottabad incident,” said Raza Rabbani.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that former president Pervez Musharraf wanted to do an underhand deal in 2007, which he turned down at that time.

He said that the ex-military ruler sent an indirect message that he is interested in solving issues.

“Now Musharraf can’t come back to Pakistan, this is retribution,” he added.
