LAHORE: Victorious Pakistan Hockey team were warmly received by cheering crowd upon their return home at Lahore airport from China Saturday night.
Pakistan’s National Hockey Team grabbed gold in Asian Games after two decades.
Speaking on the occasion, Asif Bajwa, Secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) said the next aim of the national team is Olympics 2012 and Hockey World Cup 2014.
He congratulated the entire nation on the glorious victory of Pakistan Hockey Team in the Asian Games staged in China.
Captain national hockey team, Zeeshan Ashraf thanked the crowd for the warm welcome and demanded of the government to take steps for ‘survival of national hockey’.
Goal Keeper Salman Akbar announced to dedicate his gold medal to the victims of Pakistan’s devastating floods.
