Six women arrested for robbing shops in Karachi

The women confessed to looting dozens of shops in the city: police

KARACHI: Six women were arrested Saturday night for robbing shops in Korangi and Landhi.

According to the Awami Colony police, the women revealed they have looted dozens of shops in different areas of the metropolis. The police quoted the women as saying that they would hide the stolen things in their chadars (shawls).

Action against the women was taken over a complaint filed by a trader in Korangi, Asif Khan.   

Stolen items have also been recovered from their possession, including jewellery and clothes, said the police, adding that the robbers would go around in a group looting shops.

The arrested women were identified as Zubeda, Surraiyya, Haleema, Rashida, Surraiyya Hussain and Asiya.
