Trade activities poised to increase manifold: Naval Chief

KARACHI: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah emphasized on the importance of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) while addressing a ceremony at Karachi Shipyard.

“The trade activities are poised to increase manifold with the developments taking place on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, which has the potential to transform Pakistan into a regional economic hub,” said Zakaullah said.

The naval chief further said that trade through CPEC would place additional premium on the responsibilities of Pakistan Navy, to ensure safe and secure maritime environment for uninterrupted maritime activities to take place.

“It is important that the emerging challenges of design and construction are addressed jointly by the stakeholders to ensure that the end product is delivered on time or before time, meets the quality standards, and remains within the budgetary allocation,” he said.
