ABBOTTABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday said the Army will continue to contribute towards national security, according to the Inter Services Public Relations.
The COAS visited Baloch Regimental Center (BRC) in Abbotabad today, where he laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada paying homage to martyrs of Baloch Regiment, who laid their lives for the defence of the motherland, the ISPR said in a statement.
The army chief expressed pleasure and said that it was an "honour to be at home of Baluchis". He said that he has very special attachment with Baloch Regiment being second generation officer as his father was also an officer from the same regiment, read the statement.
General Bajwa interacted with officers and recruits, including those from FC KPK undergoing training at the center.
The COAS reiterated his vision for better Pakistan where nothing takes precedence over the country. He said the country comes first and then any individual or institution, the statement added.
Earlier, on arrival at the BRC, the army chief was received by Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza.
Commandant Pakistan Military Academy, Major General Abdullah Dogar was also present on the occasion.
