Another record has been set in space and it’s by a woman.
Yes. That’s right.Whitson has her eighth spacewalk at the International Space Station.
The spacewalk formally began at 7:29 AM (1129 GMT) when Whitson and her NASA colleague Shane Kimbrough switched their spacesuits to battery power before venturing outside the airlock and into the vacuum of space.
While talking about the spacewalk, Betty told NASA television, "We call that officially the yee-haw ride."
Next week, Peggy and Pesquet, 39, are set to perform another spacewalk to continue the space station upgrades and maintenance needed for future spaceships.
The spacewalks are needed for upgrading work and getting things ready for the docking of so-called space taxis in the future.
