Trinidad is most commonly known as the birth place of cricket legend Brian Lara. Everyone in the area knows him and he is a hero of the place.
However, if you explore the place it will be revealed that the place has a lot more to offer. The place boasts presence of seven beautiful architectural structures known as ‘Magnificent Seven’.
Former cricketer Rameez Raja took the audience on a ride of these historical structures.
He begins the tour with Queen’s Royal College, a German Renaisssance design style structure was built in 1902. The striking building also comprises a very beautiful chiming clock.
Next destination is Hayes Court, which was built in 1908 for the Anglican Bishop of Trinidad. The structure includes elements of Scottish cast iron especially beams and columns.
This is followed by Ambard’s House, a French Second Empire style house, which was built in 1904. The house was designed by French architect Lucien F. Ambard.
Moreover, next is Archbishop’s Palace. The design includes elements of Indian Empire architecture and was built in 1903 by an Irish architect.
Raja then takes the viewers to the next destination, Stollmeyer’s Castle. The castle’s Scottish architect had given the abode to his son after his wife found it too fancy for her liking.
The other two architectural structures included in the list are White Hall and Mille Fleurs.
