LAHORE: The Punjab Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Saturday decided to beef the security of worship places and the entry and exit points of Punjab.

The meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, decided that security of sensitive installations and buildings will be increased.

CM Shehbaz said that security around mosques, churches, imambargahs and other worship places will be prioritised. He added that indiscriminate action will be taken against anyone found publishing and disseminating hate material.

The chief minister further said that the ban on loudspeakers will be strictly followed and action will be taken against those violating the law.

He also directed to increase combing and search operations. “Everyone needs to work together actively to thwart nefarious designs of anti-state elements,” the CM said.

He said that the security plan would be completely monitored and regularly audited.
