They say 'beauty lies in the eyes of beholder' but, for photographer Mihaela Noroc, beauty lies in the lens of her camera.

Noroc has been travelling around the world in search of women who embody a diverse idea of beauty and strength. She has been taking pictures of women she meets and posting them on her popular website, The Atlas of Beauty, for over three years.

The Atlas of Beauty, a growing online photography project, is Noroc’s way of proving her hypothesis that “beauty can make us more tolerant.”

According to Noroc, “Every day when we watch mass media we see an Atlas of War, Conflicts, and Fear.”

“People are fighting just because they are different: because they have a different religion, culture, or race.”

Noroc also hopes that her photographs will show that “diversity is something beautiful and not a reason for conflict.”

Noroc’s journey started in 2013 when she left her job and her home in Romania, and began to backpack across the globe.

Initially The Atlas of Beauty was funded by her personal savings, but since the project has garnered international attention, Noroc has been able to work with generous fans and supporters to further her travels.

Noroc visited over 45 countries till 2016 and has been to every continent except Antarctica.

The stunning images captured by Noroc are the perfect showcase of diverse feminine beauty around the world.
