Criminal gang busted in Quetta

QUETTA: Quetta police busted notorious criminal gang involved in heinous crimes including targeted killing, kidnapping for ransom, robbery, bike snatching and car lifting and others.

Addressing a news conference here Sunday, DIG Operation Quetta Hamid Shakeel and SSP Investigation Quetta Wazir Khan Nasir said over 78 gangs were involved in heinous crimes in the metropolis of Balochistan.

Some gangsters were enjoying patronage of influential personalities, they added.

They said Quetta police apprehended Muhammad Suleman son of Muhammad Yaqub Zehri and his accomplice Sikandar son of Haji Usman Zehri, residents of Khuzdar, besides recovering 668 kg explosive material and weapons from their possession.

They said during interrogation, the arrested criminals disclosed the names of their 11 accomplices, adding efforts were being made to arrest the other criminals soon.

The criminal gang was involved in committing terrorism related crimes in Quetta, Kalat, Khuzdar, Mastung and other areas.
