ISLAMABAD: Slamming allegations by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) Naeemul Haque, State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the "statement by PTI Information Secretary is irresponsible and he should apologise for that".
Haque on Tuesday said his comment regarding former Chief of Army Staff General (retired) Ashfaq Pervez Kayani was his personal opinion and did not reflect the stance of his party.
My comments on Geo last night about General Kayani were my own and do not reflect party stance in any way.

I have not accused Gen Kayani of anything but asked him for clarification of insinuations levelled against him in a national newspaper.

The PTI leader's statement came hours after he alleged that the former army chief had engineered the 2013 general elections with the support of Saudia Arabia and the United States in favour of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Pakistan Muslim – Nawaz (PML-N).
Aurangzeb denied PTI's allegations against the key national institution and ex-army chief. "There is no evidence, but it is sad how four countries, a national institution and an individual were accused."
"If [PTI had] evidence, why wasn't it presented in court?" she questioned
The minister stated that the PTI, for the sake of keeping its inability out of sight, has made it a routine to insult people, level allegations, and use foul language against them.
"Politics is not Imran Khan's cup of tea," she remarked.
Haque had claimed that “the polls were stopped in middle of the night and returning officers were pressured to follow the instructions.”
However, despite repeated requests to share any proofs to back the allegations, the party's information secretary refused to do so.
“I challenge Gen (Retd) Kayani to refute the allegation. We don't need to share any proof; people are aware of the facts. Ingenuities are not exercised on paper. There are no safe recordings available of such acts,” the PTI Information Secretary said.
He added that in case there is a PTI government in the future, the party will form a commission to investigate the elections.
