LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan said on Wednesday that the Test series against West Indies will be the last for current skipper Misbah-ul-Haq.
Khan stressed that he had not spoken with Misbah regarding the retirement but there was an understating that the West Indies series would be the last for Pakistan’s Test captain in international cricket.
The PCB chairman added that there was no need to speak with Misbah regarding this.
There has been confusion regarding Misbah’s retirement with no definite timeframe given by the Test skipper for this.
In March 2016, Misbah had said he would make a decision regarding his retirement after meeting with Shahryar Khan.
In the past, Misbah has stressed that retiring after Pakistan’s successful tour of England would have been a selfish decision.
Pakistan will play the first match of a three-match Test series against West Indies on April 22 in Kingston, Jamaica. The remaining two matches will be played in Barbados on April 30 and Dominica on May 10.
