KARACHI: The fishermen in the city hunted a 16-feet long whale shark in the wee hours of Thursday.

The big fish was picked from the launch by a crane and put in a truck. Its auction will be held at the port today.

Previously big fish, like whales, have been found near the shore of the Arabian Sea by the city.

In October 2016, a fisherman caught the footage of five humpback whales.

According to him, the whales had come near the shore to eat shrimp, the favourite food of the giant mammal.

One of them had a wound which could have been caused due to fishing gear, he had said. The World Wide Fund for Nature had said the whales were found 57 kilometres away from Karachi.
