ISLAMABAD: In an operation at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Friday, the Airport Security Force (ASF) arrested a foreign national for attempting to smuggle narcotics out of the country.

ASF officials said the passenger, en route to Nigeria, had concealed around 1.5 kilogrammes of liquid heroin inside a shampoo bottle in his luggage.

The market value of the contraband is said to be approximately Rs10 million.

The suspect is in custody and further investigations are under way, said the officials.  

On April 30, ASF personnel seized one-and-a-half kilogramme heroin from a passenger at Karachi airport. 

The passenger wanted to smuggle the heroin to Saudi Arabia, according to an ASF spokesperson.
