Unidentified attackers killed three labourers in Turbat

QUETTA: As many as three labourers were shot dead from firing by unidentified assailants on Friday in a remote area of Turbat, informed sources.

The unfortunate incident occurred at Hoshab area of the district when the labourers were working on a road construction project. 

CM Baluchistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has strongly condemned the incident and reiterated that the government will foil any conspiracy against the progress of the province.

Meanwhile, in Panjgor district an unidentified body was also found.

Earlier, on May 13, unidentified attackers gunned down ten labourers in two separate incidents on the outskirts of Gwadar.

One labourer is also said to have been injured in one of the attacks.

The incidents took place in the Pishgan and Guns Road area of Gwadar where the labourers were working on construction projects.

Most of the victims are said to be natives of Naushero Feroze, Sindh, according to sources.

Sources added that the site of the incident has been cordoned off by security forces and a sweeping operation is under way.

Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti termed the incident an attack on Pakistanis, saying the perpetrators will be brought to book. He added that it seems that RAW-funded terrorists are behind the attack.

In a statement, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the killing of innocent labourers, saying every step will be taken to bring peace to Balochistan.

Meanwhile, head of the Edhi Welfare Organisation, Faisal Edhi, said their ambulances have departed from Karachi and will be bringing back the labourers' bodies. He added that the convoy includes a cold storage van.

Funeral prayers offered

The funeral prayers of the labourers were offered at Gwadar Cricket Ground on Saturday evening.

Commander Southern Command also attended the funeral prayers.

The labourers' bodies, after completion of medico-legal formalities, were taken to their native hometowns in C-130 for burial process.
