Security for Muharram processions up in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: District Administrator Aftab Ahmed Khatri visited Imam Bargahs and routes of mourning processions in various areas of Taluka Latifabad to review security arrangements for Muharram.

He was accompanied by MNA Tayyab Hussain, MPA Sohail Yousuf, DPO Hyderabad Munir Ahmed Shaikh, Managing Director WASA and other concerned officials.

The administrator directed MD WASA to clear filthy water accumulating on the roads and asked the Talukka administrator to ensure cleanliness, repair of broken roads and streets and installation of street lights where needed.

He called upon administrators of the Imam Bargahs to make sure the video footages of majalis and processions to take place there.

He advised them not to allow entry to anyone without security check and also to create one or two exit and entry points into the premises.

The administrator said that the security guidelines, issued by police, should be followed at all costs.

Khatri underlined that foolproof security was not possible without active cooperation extended by the people with the law enforcers.
