Two foreign nationals kidnapped from Quetta

The husband and wife were working at a Korean language centre since the last year

QUETTA: Two Chinese nationals were kidnapped by unidentified men from Quetta’s Jinnah Town on Wednesday, according to Quetta DIG.

The police said that the abducted include a husband and wife.

"A Chinese couple has been kidnapped and their personal guard was injured during the incident," Anwar ul Haq Kakar, a spokesperson for Balochistan, told Reuters.

The husband and wife, identified as Li Zang Hing and Ming Leassi Ha, were working at a Korean centre nearby Jinnah Town and had been teaching Korean language to the area residents for more than a year.

A contingent of police reached the site after the kidnapping. 

Moreover, a security guard sustained injuries after gunmen opened fire on him as he tried to stop the kidnapping.

According to the details, the foreign nationals had gone to eat at a local restaurant when four unidentified men took them away in a car.

Further investigation in the incident is under way.
