MULTAN: The fire which broke out in Basheer oil mills at Vehari road late Tuesday afternoon, was doused after nine hours.
As many as 24 fire trucks were used in the operation to control the blaze.
As a result of the fire, four nearby shops and two houses were affected.
The supply of electricity in the area had also been suspended by the Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO). The fire affected three MEPCO feeders, according to power utility's spokesperson. He added that restoration of feeders is under way.
The fire erupted due to overheating of the factory's generator.
According to rescue officials, there was about 50,000 gallons of mobil oil in the factory's basement.
