ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said on Thursday that Pakistan has serious concerns over the growing tension between Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Speaking at the weekly briefing at the Foreign Office, he said Pakistan wants a coalition of Muslim countries.
On the Indian violations at the Line of Control, he remarked that India has been risking the peace and stability of the region.
He said that Pakistan strongly condemns the atrocities perpetrated by Indian Forces in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).
He said Indian barbarism cannot suppress the Kashmiri people`s just struggle for right to self-determination.
“How can slogans chanted by a 15-year-old boy post a threat to India?” he asked.
Recently, about nine Kashmiris have been martyred in IOK, he said, adding that atrocities are being carried out against university students and other innocent citizens. India is trying to move the attention from its human rights violations in Kashmir, he said, adding that India is just deepening the rift between Pakistan and India.
Speaking about recent media reports regarding development of Chinese airbases in Pakistan, he said that the Chinese government have released a clarification over the matter. He added that he does not want to share more details in the media briefing.
To ensure regional stability, Pakistan and Afghanistan will have to avoid elements which tend to sabotage the relationship they share, he added.
