Rangers bust gang of fraudsters in Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh busted a gang of fraudsters using vehicle with fake military number plate in Karachi, they said in a statement on Saturday.

Rangers' personnel, during snap checking near Safoora Chowrangi, stopped a suspicious vehicle with a Pakistan Army number plate, which was being escorted by two private security guards riding on a motorbike.

When questioned, the suspects, Rehan Ali and Syed Rizwan Ali, impersonated themselves as "relatives" of some military officers.

While the two suspects riding on motorbike, Muhammad Zahid and Ghaffar, had rented uniforms from a private security company to materialise their fraudulent scheme.

Paramilitary personnel also seized a rifle and a 9mm pistol from them.

The suspects were handed over to police for taking legal action against them.
