SHEIKHUPURA: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Mian Nawaz Sharif underlined the need for a revolutionary change in the country, Geo News reported Saturday.
Addressing the party workers after offering condolences to a long-associated worker Arif Khan Sandhela on his mother demise, he said his party will not consent to Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST) and that the government would not be allowed to burden the common man in this regard.
Nawaz Sharif urged the government to whittle down its expenditures and kick-start the works for public benefit, adding the corrupt people be expelled from each institution.
‘WikiLeaks has unmasked many; but, (the then US President Bill) Clinton phoned me six times; however, we did not capitulate,’ he asserted to a gathering of party workers.
The people repeatedly complained to others; but, he never did the same nor did he condemn anyone, Nawaz remarked adding he wanted to see a new Pakistan.
The PML-N chief said, ‘I talk about action and the country can be changed with a revolutionary thought,’ adding military dictators caused havoc to the country.
PML-N sided with the government on Eighteenth Amendment and the matters on which the party supported the government, proved successful, Sharif observed.
