KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Mirza held a detailed discussion with the high ups of the Police Department on the cases of extortion, particularly, in Karachi.
According to a statement issued by the Central Police Office (CPO), Karachi, the meeting was presided over by the Home Minister here on Saturday.
IGP Sindh, Sultan Salahuddin Babar Khattak, CCPO Karachi Fayyaz Leghari, Additional IG CID, Special Branch, DIG Headquarers, and DIGs of all operational zones attended the meeting.
The Minister directed the police officials to make concerted efforts to end the mafia of extortionists.
"Any influence in this regard to protect the "Bhatta Mafia" will be intolerable," he said.
On the occasion, he also reviewed the overall law and order situation and security measures to be operational during the month of Muharram-ul-Haram.
Meanwhile, the CCPO Karachi, has ordered setting up of special cells to monitor the cases pertaining to extortion and ordered an immediate action.
