ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will hold an important meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday to discuss the delimitation of constituencies across the country.

Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Sardar Raza Khan will chair the meeting, which will be briefed by Chief Census Commissioner Asif Bajwa.

Bajwa will brief participants about the census data required by the ECP for delimitation of constituencies.

With the completion of the census recently after a gap of nearly two decades, the number of electoral constituencies is expected to increase according to the latest population data.

With elections due in the middle of next year, the ECP needs accurate census data soon if it is to mark new constituencies in the country's electoral map.
