Lahore High Court seeks replies from federal, Punjab govts over incident

BAHAWALPUR: Three more people injured in the Ahmedpur East oil tanker fire succumbed to burn wounds on Monday, taking the death toll to 206.

According to Bahawal Victoria Hospital focal person Dr Amir Mehmood, the injured were under treatment at Nishtar Hospital in Multan. He added 65 others were still being treated for burn injuries.

Federal, Punjab govts issued notices

The Lahore High Court has sought replies from the federal and Punjab governments over the investigation request pertaining to the Ahmedpur East oil tanker fire.

LHC Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah issued the notices over the petition filed by a citizen, who has requested an investigation be carried out into the matter. The petitioner has expressed concern over the death toll that continues to rise.
