RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Bajwa held a reception on Wednesday for Pakistan cricket team and the management, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations statement.

He also asked the team to continue to be hard-working and humble as they are the ambassadors of Pakistan, said the ISPR release.

Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Shaharyar Khan thanked the Army Chief for his support and making a conducive environment for the sport in the country.

Chairman Executive Committee PCB Najam Sethi also thanked the Army Chief for the support in holding the PSL final in Lahore.

The players also thanked the COAS for holding the reception and honouring them, said the ISPR, adding that the players also recognised the Army’s contribution in the war against terror.

On Monday, the prime minister hosted the players and honoured them for their performance during the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy.

"There is no need to plead with any country to visit Pakistan, those who want to play in Pakistan will visit themselves," said the premier at the occasion.

After the conclusion of the premier's speech, he distributed prize money among the players and participated in a photography session with PCB's management and players.
