LAHORE: As many as 150 shop-stalls turned into ashes after a fire broke out at Sabzazar`s model bazaar, informed a fire fighting official, Imran Ramay.
Ramay said the fire exacerbated because the shop roofs were made of fiberglass and initial investigation suggests that the fire broke out due to a short-circuit.
Fortunately, no causality was reported from the incident.
The fire was doused by seven firefighting vehicles, informed rescue officials, adding that clothing, shoes and utensil shops were worst effected.
In the same area on May 29, a fire broke out at a furniture showroom. Fire abruptly spread to the whole building as a result of which the whole showroom was destroyed. Fire Brigade and Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot and brought the fire under control after an effort of one hour.
Valuables worth millions of rupees were reportedly destroyed.
