LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senior leaders and federal ministers put their weight behind the prime minister on Sunday — a day before the final Joint Investigation Team’s report will be submitted to the Supreme Court in relation to the Panama Leaks case.
Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique was speaking to a gathering in Lahore, where he said that he knows who is playing against the ruling party.
The federal minister said that the party would give justification in the court of the public, where the rivals would be given a bashing as well.
“If we are taken out of the Pakistani politics forcefully, then the political landscape of the country would be empty, “said Rafique.
“We didn’t know that controversial people would be included in the JIT,” said Rafique, adding that if the JIT does anything wrong then it can be criticized as it is not the apex court itself.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif addressed a gathering in Sialkot, where he demanded that the JIT proceedings should be made public so the entire nation should know what the JIT asked from the premier.
From this entire fiasco, there will emerge good for us, said the federal minister.
Khawaja Asif said that the PM made new history and gave birth to a new tradition as he presented himself for accountability.
The senior party leader went on to say that Nawaz would complete his term and become PM for the fourth time in 2018.
The Panama case JIT will submit its final report to the Supreme Court’s special implementation bench tomorrow.
The JIT, formed on May 5 in light of the Supreme Court’s April 20 judgment, was tasked to ascertain the money trail of the Sharif family-owned properties in Park Lane, London.
