Manchester United's former England soccer captain Wayne Rooney has rejoined boyhood favorites Everton from their Premier League rivals, the Merseyside club said on Sunday.
"Everton can confirm that Wayne Rooney has rejoined the club from Manchester United on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee," said a statement on Everton's website (www.evertonfc.com).
Rooney has expressed his excitement on joining his former club.
Rooney has rejoined Everton 13 years after leaving the Merseyside club. He has appeared 559 times for Manchester United, scoring 253 goals; he won five Premier League titles and each of the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup once after joining from the Toffees for £27m in 2004.
