MPA sacked for violating PML-N’s Senate policy
PESHAWAR: The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday expelled Wajeehuz Zaman – a MPA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly – for violating party discipline and not voting for its candidate in the recently concluded Senate elections.

According to a statement issued by the PML-N, Zaman’s basic party membership has been revoked with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s signatures.

He was also issued a show-cause notice on February 28 over the charges of violating party policy on Senate elections.

The MPA had stated categorically during an interview that he would not vote for the PML-N candidates in the Senate elections. He was elected from Mansehra on a PML-N ticket in the 2013 elections.

Zaman is the son of former senator Fauzia Fakharuz Zaman, who contested the Senate poll as an independent candidate. He had proposed the candidature of another independent candidate, Waqar Ahmed Khan, for the Senate elections.
