LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Thursday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has unanimously rejected the report by the Panama case JIT.
“The PML-N has unanimously rejected the JIT report. We are proud of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the entire PML-N stands firmly behind the PM,” Sanaullah said while speaking to reporters here.
The provincial law minister said the JIT inquiry had failed to taint Nawaz Sharif’s reputation.
Referring to Imran Khan as “ilzaam” Khan, Sanaullah mocked the PTI chief’s remarks.
“Ilzaam Khan says the PM’s children became billionaires. His efforts to remove the PM will not succeed,” Sanaullah said, adding that if the nation rejected him, the premier would leave by himself.
“It’s not just the Punjab Assembly, the entire Punjab trusts Nawaz Sharif,” the minister added.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said earlier today he will not resign regardless of the demands being made by the group conspiring against him as the people of Pakistan have elected him.
Addressing the cabinet members, Sharif termed JIT report a concoction of allegations and stories regarding his family's private businesses.
"Without any hesitation I presented myself and family before the JIT," he stated, adding that his family business predates the entry of any family member in politics.
"My family didn’t earn anything from politics but did lose a lot," he said, adding that despite reservations he accepted the JIT's formation.
