At least three die as jeep plunges into Chitral River

Locals rescue seven passengers; four still missing

CHITRAL: At least three people died after a jeep loaded with passengers plunged into Chitral River on Monday, according to local police.

Police said the vehicle, carrying 14 people, plunged into river near Cheo Bridge. The passengers were en route to Chitral from Garam Chashma area.

Locals rescued seven passengers, while three bodies, including one of a woman, were also recovered. Chitral Scouts helped pull the jeep out of river through a crane.

Four people were still missing and the search was on for them.
