ISLAMABAD: Nawaz Sharif has decided who would be the caretaker prime minister when he has to step down from his position after the Panama case verdict is announced, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed said on Sunday.
Talking to Geo News , the AML chief said talks were making rounds of Federal Minister for Water and Power and Defence Khawaja Asif of being chosen as the caretaker prime minister. “But Nawaz Sharif would not work with a junior, never with Khawaja Asif.”
Rasheed added if Asif is selected as the caretaker prime minister then there is a definite chance of rifts emerging in Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. “It also shows that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar are not in Nawaz’s good books.”
The AML chief went on to say that National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq was in the good books of Nawaz and that the Sharif family also supports him.
But Nawaz Sharif would not want another 'Prime Minister House' in Lahore, Rasheed said, referring to Nawaz's Raiwind estate that is considered a de facto PM House.
