ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman on Monday said that his party will vote for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate for prime minister.

Speaking to newsmen here, the JUI-F chief said articles 62 and 63 of the constitution were not the real issue; it was rather the National Accountability Bureau for it was also created by a dictator.

Maintaining that ideology-based politics has been ended from the country, Fazl said they cannot desert their allies in difficult times.

While the ruling PML-N has fielded Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as its nominee for PM, the opposition parties failed to rally behind PTI candidate Sheikh Rasheed as their joint candidate.

As a result, the Pakistan People's Party and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan on Monday submitted papers for their own nominees for prime minister.

Responding to Imran Khan's threats of chasing them, he said it exposes the PTI chief's intentions and lambasted him for threatening others for having different political stance.

"Do not scare us with your hollow threats; we have always faced our opponents with courage," the JUI-F said.
