Snooker: Another title for Pakistan as both teams qualify for final of World Team Championship

KARACHI: Two teams from Pakistan have qualified for the final of IBSF World Team Snooker Championship being played at Hurghada, Egypt.

Pakistan fielded two teams in the event, Mohammad Sajjad and Asjad Iqbal's Pakistan 1, while Babar Masih and Mohammad Asif made the team Pakistan 2.

Pakistan 1, after beating India 1 in the quarter final, downed Wales in the semi-final on Wednesday evening. 

The pair of Sajjad and Asjad won the first semi-final with a margin of 67-59, 95-0, 65-52 and 65-48.

In the second semi-final, Masih and Asif outclassed Ireland without dropping a frame. Both played breaks of 52, 66 and 71 to complete the win with score a of 86-4, 109-31, 63-50, 95-8.

With both the teams in the final of IBSF World team snooker championship, Pakistan has secured yet another snooker title.

Pakistan has now won ten medals, including three in the last four months. The tally includes Pakistan’s win in Asian 6 reds and World Junior U18 championship.
