Pakistan embassy in Beijing celebrates Independence Day

Event remembered the country’s founding fathers and martyrs

BEIJING: The 71st Independence Day of Pakistan, marked with a flag hoisting ceremony, was celebrated at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing with great fervor and enthusiasm.

The event remembered the country’s founding fathers and the martyrs who rendered sacrifices to secure independence from foreign rule.

Pakistan’s Ambassador Masood Khalid raised the national flag and also read out messages from the president and prime minister of Pakistan.

“We need to reiterate our strong resolve to always uphold the values of determination and dedication for the objective of development of Pakistan,” said President Mamnoon Hussain in his message.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in his message urged the nation to remember the sacrifices of the martyrs.

Khalid congratulated the Pakistani community in China on this occasion and said that the Pakistani nation today is fully united and determined to meet all challenges and continue its march towards progress and development.

He further recalled the sacrifices given by our fore fathers for the creation of Pakistan and urged adherence to Quaid-e-Azam’s message of unity, faith and discipline to promote national unity and cohesion.

In Shanghai, Consul General Dr. Naeem Khan also read out messages by the president and prime minister. He also met the Pakistani business community on the occasion.
