Peshawar police nab wanted criminals, seize weapons

A huge cache of arms seized in raids is in police custody

PESHAWAR: SSP Operations Sajjad Khan in a press conference on Tuesday said the police recovered large caches of weapons from wanted criminals in Peshawar.

"70 wanted criminals were arrested in 30 police operations carried out ahead of Independence Day celebrations," SSP Khan said in a press conference.

Ladies police, security forces, and sensitive law enforcement agencies took part in the search and strike operations conducted in cantt, city, and rural circles.

He added that two rocket launchers, two shells, 44 Kalashnikovs, 12 Kalakovs, 78 rifles, 274 pistols, 12 hand grenades, 10 kilograms of explosives, and over 19 thousand bullets were seized by the authorities.
