Centre committed to development of Karachi, says Governor Sindh

KARACHI: Governor Sindh Mohammad Zubair said on Tuesday that the federal government is committed to the development of the province of Sindh and in particular, Karachi.

The Governor Sindh was addressing a press conference, where he said that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Ababsi announced a package for Karachi upon his visit, which is greater than the NFC award.

M Zubair said when he became the governor he initiated work for the province. He said in the city's development projects, the federal government has a fifty percent contribution in four of them.

He said that Muttahida Quami Movement was an elected political party and an important part of the city, adding that PML-N had contact with the party specially.

“We started talks with Karachi’s all stakeholders,” he added.

Governor Sindh Zubair said that today’s Karachi is different than that of the past.

“Now in Karachi there are no strikes and incidents of arson violence,” said the governor Sindh.
