Six killed in Gujranwala accident

10 people injured in incident receiving treatment at DHQ Hospital

GUJRANWALA: Six people were killed when a dumper truck collided with a passenger van in the city’s Nokhar Mandi area on Monday.

Rescue sources said around 10 people were also injured in the accident and are receiving medical aid at the District Headquarters Hospital.

Police said they have arrested the driver of the dumper truck and are investigating the incident. 

Three weeks ago, eight people died in a van-truck collision on Hassanabdal Road in Attock.

According to the police, a speeding truck crashed into a van, en route to Rawalpindi from Peshawar on the GT Road. As a result of the collision, the van crashed into a junction of gas pipelines following which it caught fire. However, rescue teams were able to douse the fire.
