Army chief spends Eid with troops in Rajgal

'Eid on duty for the security of Pakistan and its people is the best festivity for us,' the COAS said

RAJGAL: The Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa spent the first day of Eid-ul-Azha with soldiers deployed on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Rajgal.

"Eid on duty for the security of Pakistan and its people is the best festivity for us," the COAS said, according to a tweet by the Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor.

"Pakistan is our passion & our life; our lives are for Pakistan. 'Nothing/no one is above [our] country. Inshallah together we'll make it the best country," the General Bajwa said.

Earlier in the day, Gen Bajwa extended greetings to the nation on the occasion of Eid-ul Azha on Saturday.

A tweet by the DG ISPR said the army chief wished the country on the behalf of the armed forces.

“"Eid-ul-Azha gives us the message of peace, happiness, fraternity and selfless sacrifice for humanity", said the COAS, the tweet mentioned.
