KARACHI: A new video has surfaced of attack on Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leader Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan, showing two assailants opening fire, one of them wearing police uniform.
As shown in the video, one of the assailants was wearing civic clothes while the other one was in police uniform – both of them had their faces covered with helmets and surgical masks. The person in civic clothes is seen getting off the motorbike he was on and opening fire. He leaves first while the other one follows.
The assailant in police uniform is possibly Hassaan, who was caught and thrashed by the public. The footage also shows lying on the ground the person, who was injured during firing.
On the other hand, as per updates in the case, the 9mm pistol found from the possession of one of the assailants, Hassaan, had been used in attack on DSP Traffic in Azizabad, sources said.
The same pistol was also used in the killing of four policemen in SITE area during Ramazan.
Moreover, Hassaan, the attacker killed in an exchange of fire with the police, had a doctorate in Philosophy and had taught as a professor at an engineering university, sources said.
According to sources, three people were involved in the attack. Out of them, two opened fire, while one was on backup, sources said.
